Why Is There Aargon Agency On My Credit Report

How To Contact Aargon Agency

Why Did My Credit Score Drop? | Capital One

Mail:

Phone: 1-800-220-7036Website: http://www.aargon.com/

Remember, you do not have to talk on the phone with a debt collector and it is highly recommended that you do not. Deal with them via certified mail with return receipt requested. This gives you proof that your letter was received, and on what date.

Keeping track of your correspondence when you communicate with Aargon Agency is highly important. Be sure to keep a copy of any mail you send, too, for your records.

Request A Goodwill Deletion

If you have already paid the debt, you may be able to get the entry removed by asking for a goodwill deletion.

A goodwill deletion is when the debt collector, in this case, Aargon Agency Inc, agrees to stop reporting a paid debt to the major credit bureaus out of generosity.

To request a goodwill deletion, you will need to write them a letter explaining to them the reason for your debt.

If you have been laid off or had an illness that caused late payments, this is often seen as an extenuating circumstance and may lend to your cause.

You should also let them know why you would like the entry removed, such as wanting to qualify for a mortgage or auto loan.

Always be polite in your goodwill deletion letter and refrain from demanding a deletion.

If Aargon Agency Inc chooses to grant you a deletion, they would technically be doing you a favor. It is best to approach the situation with kindness instead of entitlement.

If this all seems like too much for you to deal with on your own,we recommend you seek help from a professional credit repair company.

Old Debts Can Cause Problems Whether You Pay Or Not

At first glance, it might make sense to just pay off a debt collection agency. After all, that’s the easiest way to make them leave you alone, right?

Not exactly. Sure, paying a debt collection agency may get them off your back. But that’s all it’ll do. Evidence of the unpaid debt will remain on your credit report for another seven years. The actual amount of the debt doesn’t matter. Collections raise the same red flag on your credit report, regardless of whether the debt is for $100 or $100,000. This can affect your ability to secure loans in the future.

What’s worse, intent doesn’t matter in debt collection cases. Many debtors aren’t trying to dodge their creditors. They just don’t know they owe money. This happens all the time. A creditor may send an unpaid debt notice to a borrower’s old address. The borrower never receives it and goes on with their lives, unaware of the debt following them.

This lingering debt can have some surprising effects. It’ll make getting new loans more difficult. Securing financing for a car, mortgage, student loans, or home improvement is significantly more difficult with bad credit. But that’s not all. Bad credit can also make it difficult to rent a home or even open an online streaming account.

Why Is Aargon Agency Calling Me

Rebuilding Your Credit Score with a Car Loan

Aargon Agency could be calling for a number of reasons, all of them related to debt collection:

  • They could be collecting a debt on behalf of a creditor. For example, your dentist may have hired the agency to collect on a past due dental bill.
  • They may be calling about a debt incurred by someone you dont know. For example, it could be a wrong number call or your phone number could have been previously owned by the person who actually owes the debt.
  • They could be calling to ask the whereabouts of someone you know. For example, they may believe that a family member of yours owes a debt and theyre trying to get a hold of his or her phone number or find out where he/she works.
  • They may be trying to get you to make a small payment on a time-barred debt in order to restart the clock on the statute of limitations. For example, they could have purchased a very old bundle of uncollected cell phone bills that are legally unenforceable; convincing a consumer to pay even a dollar makes the debt current again.

If youve been contacted by Aargon;its important to know your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If theyve violated your rights, you can take the agency to court and sue for statutory damages of up to $1,000 along with court costs and attorney fees.

What Is A Collection On Your Credit Reports

A collection account is created when a debt youve failed to repay is transferred to a collection agency. Youre still on the hook for paying the debt once its sold, but you typically have to pay the collection agency instead of the original creditor.

Debts arent usually turned over to collections the moment you make a late payment, but the time between your first missed payment and the transfer can vary. It may take several months, it may happen immediately, or it may never happen at all, depending on the creditor.

Once the debt has been turned over to collections, its generally reported to the credit bureaus. Itll then appear on your credit reports and, as a result, damage your until its removed.

Collection Deleted From Cr

Why is my Credit Karma so different than my real credit score?

I wasn’t going to wait for AARGON to update Experian with the deletion, so I faxed over my deletion letter to Experian and filed a dispute and called them. Fast forward to today, I just got this great news!

I couldn’t be happier and it goes to show, you can be proactive and get things done. Still in the rebuilding state, scores are now:

EQ: 629 / TU: 639 / EX: 641

I haven’t received an alert from myFico yet. Would there be any score boost for it falling off? I remember when I paid down one of my balances to less than 50% and when this collection popped up, my score actually went up +2 points. Someone mentioned that the balance paid offset the impact the collection would have on my reports, since the collection really had no negative point impact. Would this in fact be true?;

Thanks to everyone on here, I owe this to you guys for all your valuable information.

much love!

Should I Dispute A Collection

Through April 20, 2022, Experian, TransUnion and Equifax will offer all U.S. consumers free weekly credit reports through AnnualCreditReport.com to help you protect your financial health during the sudden and unprecedented hardship caused by COVID-19.

In this article:

Your credit reports contain a wealth of information about your credit management practices. Loans, credit cards, bankruptcies, collection accounts, credit inquiries and other information commonly appear on credit reports and are used as a basis for your credit scores, which are a key part of lenders’ risk management decisions.

Because this information is critical to how lenders perceive your credit management habits when you apply for a loan or credit card, it’s important that all the information on your credit report is accurate. If you believe any account information is incorrect, you should dispute the information to have it either removed or corrected. If, for example, you have a collection or multiple collections appearing on your credit reports and those debts do not belong to you, you can dispute them and have them removed. However, if they are a result of missed payments on accounts you own, disputing them will not change your credit file. Here’s what to know.

Your credit score influences your chances of getting approved for a loan or credit card. This is particularly important if you want to purchase a car or home in the future because your credit score will influence your loan eligibility.

When you apply for credit, the creditor or lender uses your credit score to quickly decide whether or not to approve your request. This is why its so critical to clean up credit problems, blemishes, and negative items.

Stay Calm And Know Your Rights

Dealing with a debt in collections can be stressful and embarrassing, but dont be hasty, Nitzsche says.

A legitimate debt collector should be able to provide you with documentation that shows where the debt came from, when they acquired it and how they arrived at your current balance, he says. Always ask for this verification as soon as collection attempts begin.

Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a legit collector needs to identify themselves and cant try to contact you at any unusual time or place.

They also cant communicate with anyone about your debt except for your attorney, the attorney for your creditor or the collection agency and, in some cases, a consumer reporting agency.

Its also helpful to know your states statute of limitations on debt, Nitzsche says. This can be anywhere from three to 10 years.

If the debt they claim you owe legitimate or not is beyond the statute of limitations, the collector can attempt to collect but cannot sue you, he says.

Future lenders desire to see a full report of your credit management history before deciding whether or not to offer you a new extension of credit or a new loan. This credit history is something used again, if youre approved, to determine how much to charge you for financing.

The presence of any collection accounts on your credit reports, whether paid or unpaid, is indicative of elevated risk. This is very important information for a lender to know when reviewing your application for credit. The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows for even paid collection accounts to remain on consumer credit reports for seven years from the date of default for this reason.

How To Stop Debt Collection Agencies

  • Verify if theyre a scam
  • Ask for the name and contact information of the collection agency the caller claims to be representing. Verify the contact details of the agency and compare it to those provided by your caller and the number used to contact you.

  • Check your credit report
  • Check your credit report to verify that the debt being demanded is reported there, and that the amount reported on your credit report by the debt collection agency is accurate. If a debt collection agency fails to report the correct amount on your credit report, they are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting act and you can sue them in exchange for a compensation.

  • Verify that it is your debt
  • Write a request for the validation of your alleged debt. This forces the debt collector to prove that the alleged debt exists and that it is indeed yours. When you receive the statement validating the alleged debt, carefully check that the billing address, names, and title are yours, else it may be a case of mistaken identity or a scam.

  • Know your Rights
  • Know what your consumer rights are under the FDCPA and TCPA respectively. This will enable you to accurately judge whether or not your debt collector is operating within ethical codes of conduct. If the debt collection agency responsible for collecting your debt has breached the codes of conduct stipulated by law, you can stop them by suing them in exchange for a compensation.
